Long Green

(Author: -)

3M's SUPER RARE 1967 BOOKSHELF GAME SPINOFF:

"LONG GREEN: FLY AWAY TO FUN AND PROFITS"

REAL PRIZES! FREE VACATION AIR TRAVEL WAS WON BY SUCCESSFUL
SALESMEN OF FRANCHISED DEALERS OF 3M PHOTOGRAPHIC PRODUCTS.

An awesome addition to a 3M Bookshelf Game collection.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND: THIS IS NOT A BOARD GAME YOU CAN PLAY.
THIS WAS A SALES GAME 3M CREATED FOR ITS OWN COMPANY USE.
THE GENERAL PUBLIC NEVER GOT TO SEE THIS.

3M made this just like their popular 3M Bookshelf Games, with the 'leather like' slip
cover case, and a full page, litho, artist-rendered image on the cover(the spine,
however, doesn't have a title on it). The image shows happy people exiting a plane
someplace tropical, and the title. There's a box just like the regular games.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE BOX:

Six page brochure explaining how the game worked. 3M would pay "Long
Greens" good for United Air Line flights to anywhere, to salesmen who sold new
orders for any eligible 3M Photographic Product, beginning March 1, 1968. The
brochure explains the rules, shows a map of flight paths United had at the time,
and a cool table detailing the one-way air mileage between cities served on
United Air Lines.

Six sheets of four, green, printed, uniquely-numbered "Official Long Green
Bonus Certificates" good for 100 miles of travel each. This batch is numbered
36620 through 39625.

A brown envelope with metallic-colored printing that reads "Long Greens,
Prized Property of_____"

A small catalog of the current 3M Bookshelf Games and 3M Sports Games

100 or so 'Long Green Premium Offer' post cards, each good for a free REAL 3M
Bookshelf Game

A two-sided sheet showing the consumer price schedule for "3M Brand
Photomechanical Films and Chemicals, effective August 28, 1967."
